Sometimes I get so caught up with work, I lose track of how fortunate I am to not have to worry about a lot of things I take for granted including when I'll have my next meal. Over the past few months, I've shared stories about our partnership with Feed the Children, an organization dedicated to helping defeat hunger. Today, volunteers from Frito-Lay and PepsiCo joined with Feed the Children in Chicago to distribute boxes containing food and basic essentials to 800 families in need in the area.
Together, Feed the Children, Frito-Lay and PepsiCo, along with Tops Markets, Buffalo Dream Center and Avon provided the following food and essentials to help support a family of four for up to a week:
- 25 pounds of food
- 10 pounds of essentials
- A box of AVON products
- Frito-Lay assorted chips including SunChips multigrain snacks
- Quaker Chewy Bars and Life Cereal
- Sierra Mist
- Canned food donated by Jewel-Osco
The event was one of many Feed the Children has planned across the country, so that instead of worrying about having enough to eat, hundreds of families can enjoy their time together. Check out a few photos from the event below, and get more information about Feed the Children on their website, Facebook and Twitter.
