As you may remember, a terrible tornado hit the city of Joplin, Mo., in 2011. The tornado destroyed much of the city affecting the homes and businesses of thousands of citizens -- our employees included. Over the weekend, volunteers from Frito-Lay and PepsiCo joined the Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity to kick-off the next series of rebuilds. Employees worked on the construction of two homes for partner families.
We often talk about the amazing spirit of our field employees, but today I have the chance to let you hear directly from them. Read below to learn what the day meant to some of our Frito-Lay employees, and to see a video about what volunteering meant to Frito-Lay District Sales Leader Dwain Cunningham.
"It's pretty special to be able to help out with the community. This one really hits home with the impact it had on our coworkers. It means a lot to be able to come out and give back, and to help the city of Joplin rebuild." - Loren Stilts, Frito-Lay District Sales Leader
"[My son and I] are glad to be able to come out and help somebody else out." - Greg Stover, Frito-Lay District Sales Leader
"I'm proud to be here helping my community, and to help get the family into their new home." - Crystal Butler, Frito-Lay District Sales Leader
