When it comes to Cinco de Mayo, certain cities stand out to me as obvious party destinations. If you'd asked me last week to name them, there's no way I would have said Omaha, Neb., Grand Rapids, Mich., or St. Louis. However, a recent study by the Tostitos brand found residents of these cities were more party-ready for the holiday because they had the greatest taste for five “Cinco de Mayo Party Staples” — tequila, frozen and liquid cocktail mixes (including margarita mix), tortilla/tostada chips, salsa and beer. The surprising Midwest standouts join Phoenix and Manchester, N.H. on the Tostitos brand’s first-ever list of the “Top Cinco Party-Ready Cities for Cinco de Mayo.”
Speaking of two of these party staples -- chips and salsa -- have you ever been at a party and watched as someone dipped and then re-dipped their chip? Be honest, has it ever been you? With Cinco de Mayo and summer parties on the horizon, now's a great time to revisit the good, bad and ugly of party snacking habits.
