As someone who comes from a long line of snackers, National Snack Food Month is something I take very seriously. In my family, it's not uncommon for us to put as much time into creating something to munch on between meals as we would put into breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Over the years we've all developed our own specialty snacking areas: My sister is a pro when we're craving something sweet; my mom is a master at creating tasty dips on the fly; my stepdad and brother-in-law cook up bite-sized masterpieces on the grill; and I'm a guru when it comes to adding a little heat to it all.
If your family, like mine, enjoys taking a few extra steps to create the perfect snack, below are a few recipes from Frito-Lay to help make the most of National Snack Food Month:
- Mini Quiche SCOOPS!® - This compact snack packs big flavor from bacon, Parmesan cheese, red onion and smokey paprika. The recipe can also be easily adjusted to accommodate a group of any size!
- Mango Salsa Chutney - This snack dip has a little bit of sweet, a little bit of heat and little bit of savory flavor in every bite. The flavors intensify the longer it sets so it's a great snack now or or a few hours later.
- The Original Fiesta Bowl - There's next-level snacking and then there's the Original Fiesta Bowl. Break this recipe out when you've got a hungry houseful.
