I had the opportunity this week to attend a series of events at Frito-Lay headquarters in Plano, Texas, that celebrated our culture and helped increase connections between employees. With a focus on achieving business results, growing talent and building strong partnerships, these events spotlighted the fun, innovative and collaborative ways Frito-Lay team members are working together to support the business and each other.
The week started with a Breakthrough Innovation Showcase, sponsored by our Women's Inclusion Network employee resource group, which featured cutting-edge innovation from across the company. I saw several examples of how we're using mobile technology to help our route sales teams "wow" both our customers and consumers. I toured the Frito-Lay Flavor Kitchen and learned more about how we're elevating our culinary capability across the globe. I even got to watch a video showcasing what the Frito-Lay "plant of the future" might look like in 2020.
And, of course, I took the opportunity to sample a few of our latest snacks, including Ruffles MAX Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Flavored Potato Chips (paired with actual potato skins so we could see how closely the flavors match!), Rold Gold Peppermint Dipped Snowflakes and Cracker Jack'D.
Then today, I visited our Fundamentals Fair, where departments from across Frito-Lay showcased the many ways they're helping drive the business. From Sales to Supply Chain to Marketing and many more, our teams showed off their recent successes and upcoming plans to hundreds of enthusiastic employees.
It's easy to get caught up in your own work, but these and other events during the week were a great way to learn more about the business, reconnect with colleagues and see firsthand the fun product and technology innovations we'll be introducing in the near future.
