Last week I joined my fellow Frito-Lay associates at our headquarters office in Plano, Texas, for "Fiesta Latina," a celebration event in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month -- a month-long celebration of the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The festival was hosted by Adelante, PepsiCo's Hispanic/Latino employee resource group, and included Latin foods and music, product sampling from Frito-Lay's Latin markets and a salsa contest (the spicier the better for me!).
Besides the festival, Adelante has hosted a variety of events over the course of Hispanic Heritage Month this year to educate employees on the diversity of the Hispanic and Latino cultures.
