They say the kitchen is the heart of the home. It’s where families come together to cook, eat and create memories that will always remind them of where they’re from. The meals cooked and traditions passed through generations are as diverse as the people who create them and vary depending on where a family has planted their roots.
Our chefs here at the Frito-Lay Flavor Kitchen were inspired by these unique flavors from regions across the U.S. when they developed our lineup of Lay’s Regional Flavored potato chips.
To celebrate these chips and the diverse flavors across the U.S., we recently hosted a recipe contest for a group of our Frito-Lay blogger fans called Tastes from Home with Frito-Lay. We asked these fans to submit a favorite recipe that reminded them of home or was inspired by one of the Lay’s Regional Flavors. We received a fantastic response, with over 100 recipe submissions! Our Flavor Kitchen chefs had the tough task of narrowing down these delicious creations to just three finalists – all who are in the running for our grand prize: A trip to the Flavor Kitchen in Plano, Texas, to cook with Frito-Lay executive chef Stephen Kalil!

Now, we need your help! One of these three lucky finalists will be chosen, by you, as the grand prize winner and will join us at the Frito-Lay Flavor Kitchen for a cameo in our upcoming live cooking Ustream event (more details to come on that soon!)

Try all you like...it's pretty hard to beat a good ol' "Frito pie" with Fritos, chili, cheese, and onions.
