While Frito-Lay fans in the New York City area are meeting celebrity chefs and sampling recipes as part of our Flavor Kitchen takeover in Times Square this week, we also have great news to share with fans across the country thanks to the arrival of several new flavors of Lay’s and Lay’s Kettle Cooked potato chips!
Last year, Frito-Lay introduced one national and five regional Lay’s flavors made with all-natural ingredients. Now, we’re thrilled to announce that one of the regional flavors -- Lay’s Garden Tomato & Basil -- proved so popular that we’re expanding it to national distribution where it will join Lay's Tangy Carolina BBQ. We’re also rolling out three new regional flavors that I’m sure Lay’s fans will love:
- Northeastern U.S. -- Lay’s Honey Mustard: Tangy mustard combined with a touch of sweet honey
- Midwestern U.S. -- Lay’s Creamy Garden Ranch: Sour cream mixed with spices and fresh cucumbers for the flavor of herb ranch dressing
- Southwestern U.S. -- Lay’s Chipotle Ranch: Sour cream and buttermilk ranch mixed with chipotle spice and green chili
These flavors are in addition to Lay's Balsamic Sweet Onion, currently available in the Northwestern U.S., and Lay's Cajun Herb & Spice from the Southeastern U.S. The Lay's team collaborated with chefs across the country to understand regional flavor preferences and develop these new flavors of Lay’s, inspired by the best in regional cuisine.
I’m also excited to share the news that we’re introducing two new Lay’s Kettle Cooked flavors -- Lay’s Kettle Cooked Creamy Mediterranean Herb and Lay’s Kettle Cooked Spicy Cayenne & Cheese. These flavors made with all-natural ingredients combine the great hard-bite crunch of Lay’s Kettle Cooked chips with a pair of great new tastes. (Fun fact: "Top Chef" host Padma Lakshmi and Frito-Lay executive chef Stephen Kalil cooked at the live billboard in Times Square today with Lay's Kettle Cooked Creamy Mediterranean Herb.)
Both new Lay's Kettle Cooked flavors are available nationwide, and you should be able to find them on store shelves now. So give them a try and let us know what you think!
