I come from a long line of great cooks. From grandma’s carrots to mom’s casseroles to my sister’s yummy fudge bars, the members of my family definitely know their way around a kitchen. Well … most of us anyway. Somehow the culinary gene skipped me altogether. In fact, I rarely, if ever, create a meal from scratch.
This year, I’m making a real commitment to improve my cooking skills. I’ve found some great products that are helping me with this goal, like pre-marinated chicken meat -- the key to flavorful fajitas and salads. Another helpful product is one we just introduced at Frito-Lay. It’s a line of seasoning mixes called Tostitos and Lay’s Dip Creations.
Dip Creations seasoning mixes are made from all-natural ingredients, like real onions, garlic and a combination of other herbs and spices. There are currently three flavors to choose from: Freshly Made Guacamole, Garden Onionand Country Ranch. I’ve tried them all, and all three make pretty amazing (and easy-to-prepare) dips -– the kind people might think came from a family recipe. You just add the Freshly Made Guacamole seasoning packet to fresh avocados or the Garden Onion and Country Ranch varieties to sour cream.
You can also add Dip Creations seasoning mixes to a variety of other foods like hot wings, meatballs, enchiladas, roasted vegetables, even salads. And, if you’re particularly adventurous, you can use Dip Creations to create entirely new recipes. That’s a little out of my league right now, but who knows –- maybe someday soon I’ll be ready to put together my own signature dishes.
Dip Creations seasoning mixes are in stores now, so give them a try. Be sure to let us know what you think!

Thanks for making lightly salted chips. As a suggestion could the package be a different color than the Salt n Vinegar.
