On Monday, the Lay’s brand team debuted the Lay's Mobile Farm in New York City -- the first of six cities on the mobile farm's tour. Visitors to the 70-foot long, 10-foot wide and 14-foot high traveling greenhouse had the chance to meet Lay's potato farmers, interact first-hand with potato, tomato and other vegetable plants and participate with interactive stations. In an interview with Marketing Daily, Linda Bethea, Lay’s brand manager, described the event: “Instead of just telling our farmers' stories, we're actually bringing the farm to you. The farmers have such pride in what they do. For them to be able to go on the road and share that passion with people is just a wonderful thing." Well, I have to agree!
The mobile farm tour's next stop is at City Hall Plaza in Boston on Friday, July 30. So, if you’re in Boston tomorrow, make sure to check it out!
Fun Fact: More than 80 farms from 27 states across the country grow the potatoes that become Lay’s potato chips, which are made at Frito-Lay facilities in 18 states. Click here to see where your bag of Lay’s potato chips was made!
