Over the past few of weeks, I’ve been blogging about some of the many women at Frito-Lay who are blazing new trails in business, including the unique challenges they face and how they're overcoming them. Today, I’d like to introduce Kelly Sepcic, Vice President of Innovation at Frito-Lay, as one of these Trailblazers.
Kelly Sepcic (pictured at left with her husband and daughters) joined Frito-Lay two years ago, and now leads a diverse team in Research & Development and Marketing that helps Frito-Lay deliver exceptional consumer experiences by ensuring our snacks respond to consumers’ wants and needs, such as taste and nutrition.
Kelly is a true Trailblazer not only because of her achievements as a woman in corporate America, but also because of her accomplishments in an area that’s notoriously difficult – successfully launching new products in the food industry. And, just recently, she expanded her R&D role to include a combined Marketing and R&D team – an organizational concept that’s new not only to Frito-Lay, but also to our entire industry.
Kelly has the same skills and attributes I’ve observed among other Frito-Lay leaders who have been the most successful in innovation. They are doggedly curious and motivated to understand consumers. They look at the world in new ways. And, they work with a confident optimism and persevere with their vision, even when others want to give up.
To change things up a bit, today I’m sharing my discussion with Kelly in the form of a podcast so that you can hear directly from her. Just click on the podcast link below to “meet” Kelly.
