This week on Snack Chat, we’re giving Dave, our chief blogger, a break so I can highlight a group of inspiring women -– Frito-Lay’s Fab 15! And, today, I’d like you to meet the final four of our Fab 15.
The Fab 15 is a group of 15 female bloggers who helped Frito-Lay launch our “Only in a Woman’s World” campaign earlier this year, providing feedback and perspective about the program before it launched. We chose each blogger because she represents what it means to be “real” -- real feelings, concerns, celebrations and questions that come through on each woman’s blog. And, each embodies the traits of the characters featured in the Woman’s World campaign and inspires other women -- both online and off.
In one week from today, I’ll be attending the BlogHer conference in Chicago (PepsiCo is a sponsor of the event), and I hope to spend some time with the Fab 15 ladies –- and with the other interesting women bloggers I meet. If you’re there too, you’ll see PepsiCo all over BlogHer -- sharing our story about “Performance with Purpose,” sampling our tasty products and learning from the women. Look for Frito-Lay’s station on the meeting room level.
And, even if you won’t be at BlogHer to meet the Fab 15 yourself, you can learn more about each right here on Snack Chat. Ladies, please . . .
Katja Presnal – Skimbaco Lifestyle:
Katja is the founder of Skimbaco, a modern store for families, and her blog is a place where you can peek into her life behind the store. As a wife and mom of three, she describes herself as a “fashion freak/former model, a cinnamon bun-baking housewife, a marketing-loving business woman, and a 'let's jump some more on the couch' mother.” Katja’s family is multi-cultural and bilingual, and everyone’s passport is always current. In addition to being a mother (she’s never hired a babysitter!) and having fun with her family, she loves connecting with consumers and brands and is one of Wal-Mart’s Eleven Moms. Get to know Katja and her Skimbaco Lifestyle.
Kristin Ruiz – A Ordinary Life:
Kristin is the mother to Kai, a three-year-old little girl, and a full-time college student living in Oregon. Currently pregnant with her second child, she uses her blog to chronicle the daily life of being “another ordinary mom.” Kristin enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Del, and learning and growing as a family. She loves fashion, and often uses her blog to talk about her favorite products -– in addition to telling everyone about the exciting changes happening to her family at any given moment. Meet Kristin and learn about, what she calls, “A Ordinary Life.”
Lea Ann Stundins – Mommy’s Wish List:
Lea Ann built Mommy’s Wish List for coupon-loving moms, where she dispenses coupon and good deal advice to subscribers, feeders and twitter followers. She calls her hubby the “best husband in the universe,” especially when he encourages “mommy’s weekend out.” Lea Ann and her husband have two sons, Quinn, age 11, who never does anything wrong, and two-year-old “Hurricane Luka,” who challenges her daily. Lea Ann also guest writes for Advocate’s Cliff Dweller Magazine and Oak Cliff Back Talk blog, has been featured on Money Saving Mom and Freebies 4 Mom, and she posts ad hoc on sites like Vocalpoint, Kraft First Taste and SheSpeaks. An avid tweeter, her tweets have also been featured on MSNBC.com. See what’s new with Lea Ann on Mommy’s Wish List.
Lori Falcon – A Cowboy’s Wife:
Lori has been happily married to a real cowboy for the last 16 years and is a proud mom of three boys, ages 2, 12 and 15. A self-taught web pro, she reaches out to women in various forms, including writing for Blogging with Cents, critiquing products and services at Cowgirl Critiques and chronicling her reflections on ranch life, kids, marriage and photography on her personal blog, A Cowboy’s Wife. And, her true (online) pride and joy is her food blog, My Wooden Spoon (her recipe for Walnut Dusted Oven-Baked Apples and Pears looks delicious). She is one of Wal-Mart’s Eleven Moms, and her passions include her family, photography, traveling and -- of course -- cooking. Her family always comes first. They are a ranch family that takes care of each other -- and cattle, horses, a goat, and several dogs and cats. Get to know Lori, her family, and learn more about her passions at A Cowboy’s Wife.
So, now you’ve met Frito-Lay’s Fab 15. I hope you’ve found numerous new blogs and sites to check-out too. Happy reading -- and Dave will be back next week with more good, fun Frito-Lay stories.
