As you may have read about yesterday on Snack Chat, this week, Dave, our chief blogger, is taking a break from blogging so I (Kristin Holmes) can introduce you to our Fab 15!
The Fab 15 is a group of 15 female bloggers who helped Frito-Lay launch our “Only in a Woman’s World” campaign earlier this year, providing feedback and perspective about the program before it launched. We chose each blogger because she represents what it means to be “real” -- real feelings, concerns, celebrations and questions that come through on each woman’s blog. And, each embodies the traits of the characters featured in the Woman’s World campaign and inspires other women -- both online and off.
As we’re getting closer to the BlogHer conference in Chicago next week (where I’ll be with my PepsiCo colleagues -- we're sponsors of the event), I'm getting even more excited to meet and mingle with the Fab 15 ladies.
And, even if you won’t be at BlogHer to meet the Fab 15 yourself, you can learn more about each right here on Snack Chat. Today, I’d like you to meet another six of our Fab 15 bloggers (two of the ladies blog together on one site), and I invite you to check back on Friday this week to meet the rest of the group. Without further ado . . .
Colleen Padilla – Classy Mommy:
Colleen founded Classy Mommy with the goal of providing moms with an indispensable resource for learning about fabulous products, and at the same time, highlighting important social issues that women and children face here in the United States and around the world. She traded in her real MBA (from Cornell University) for the coveted title, Master of Baby Administration, and is a stay-at-home mom to her daughter and son. Before her life as a mommy, Colleen worked in Sales and Marketing for Ford Motor Company, Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Schering Plough and Wells Fargo -- but she says that nothing compares to being a mom! Meet Colleen, the Classy Mommy.
Erika Lehmann – Chic Shopper Chick:
Erika launched Chic Shopper Chick to share her “cool finds” with others. After being asked the question, “Where did you get that?!” all of the time, she decided to start a Web site to share the wealth. Since then, Chic Shopper Chick has become a go-to source for women looking for tips on fashion, technology, kids gear and other great products for themselves and their families. Erika is married and has one daughter, “Little AG.” A true Southern girl, she loves a great-fitting pair of blue jeans and sweet tea, and hates what the Louisiana humidity does to her hair. (Erika, I can relate – Texas humidity ruins my hair too!). Check out Erika and her “cool finds” on Chic Shopper Chick.
Jenny and Emily – Mommin' It Up!:
Emily and Jenny are cousins from Ohio who are both happily married, and between them, they have four children, all under the age of 4. Together, they’ve been Mommin’ It Up since they became mothers in 2004.
Jenny has been married for nearly nine years and has two kids, ages 2 and 4. In addition to her duties at Mommin’ It Up!, she is a stay-at-home mom and the editor of the popular Blissfully Domestic Web site -- making her more of a “ work-at-home mom!” Jenny loves being a mom, fashion, beauty, blogging, Jesus and coupons. She is also a Lee Fit Ambassador Blogger.
Emily has been married for seven years and is a mom to a four-year-old and an infant. In addition to writing on Mommin It Up!, she works full-time at a large university. Emily loves being a working mom, margaritas, shopping at Target (but spends too much money there!), Gap Curvy Stretch Flare jeans and blogging with Jenny. Check out what Jenny and Emily are up to on Mommin' It Up!
Debba Haupert – Girlfriendology:
Debba Haupert founded Girlfriendology, a social networking site for women, in 2006 as a way of expressing her gratitude for girlfriends and to inspire women to spend time with, appreciate and celebrate their female friendships. She’s an author, dreamer, entrepreneur, student of social media, animal-lover, wife and a girlfriend, who believes in living life with passion. With 20 years of marketing experience in communications, PR, product development and more, Debba has grown the “girlfriend community” online. She leverages Twitter, Facebook and other social media channels to increase awareness and stress the importance of female relationships and to invite women to join their community. Meet Debba and her team at Girlfriendology.
Julie Maloney – Momspective:
Julie used her love of writing and love of being a mother as inspiration to create and launch Momspective (formerly ‘Cool Mom Guide’) in the summer of 2008. While she blogs about parenting on Momspective, Julie also uses the site as an outlet to share all of the things she thinks are cool and to share how her perspective as a mom and woman today shapes her daily life. Previously, she was a popular columnist in the Syracuse Herald- Journal's Hj magazine and even graced the cover eight times! Julie also wrote for the SUNY Oswego campus paper, hosted a radio show offering advice to teens and wrote movie reviews for Newsline, a call-in news and information service in the upstate NY area. Check out Julie and her Momspective to learn more.
