We're proud to announce that Fleet Owner magazine named Frito-Lay its "Green Fleet of the Month" for July, recognizing the sustainability strategy that guides our company's fleet operations.
As Mike O'Connell, Fleet Director for FLNA, told the magazine: "Sustainability is a comprehensive strategy that doesn't just affect the fleet, it affects the entire company. It covers how we make our products, how we move them, how we manage our facilities and infrastructure, and how we market and support our products."
Frito-Lay's goal is to become the most fuel-efficient fleet in the U.S., and to achieve this goal, we've implemented conservation programs to reduce our consumption of fuel, electricity and water across the entire supply chain. Such conservation progress includes improving the aerodynamics of our trailer fleet to boost fuel efficiency and adding new vehicles to our fleet system, such as the more than 1,200 fuel-efficient Sprinter vehicles (pictured at left) we rolled out earlier this year.
