This week, The Economist features an interesting article on CSR called "A stress test for good intentions," and questions the degree to which corporations will maintain their commitment to social responsibility in the face of the economic downturn. And, the conclusions are pretty optimistic -- the article offers examples of how companies are figuring out how to give back while making money.
And, I can see that the commitment to CSR continues to be a priority at Frito-Lay too. Last Thursday FLNA President and CEO, Al Carey, held a "town hall" meeting with employees and reiterated the company's commitment to conserving and preserving our planet while we work hard to deliver business results.
Over the last few months, I've blogged about the specific actions we're taking to support CSR, especially around environmental sustainability. You can check out the details under the "Environmental Sustainability" category here on Snack Chat, and I'll continue to feature other conservation and preservation updates in future blog posts. So, stay tuned and in the meantime, check out the article in The Economist.
